Academic Excellence

Daniel's journey to becoming a licensed attorney began at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Daniel is a first-generation college student and was part of the TRIO program at Augsburg. While at Augsburg, Daniel was a student-athlete, National Wrestling Coaches Association Academic All-American, and a member of two NCAA National Championship wrestling teams. Daniel also served as a student enrichment tutor in various subjects, as well as a resident advisor. During his senior year, Daniel was inducted into the International Sociological Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta. Not only did Daniel earn departmental honors, but he also earned Latin honors graduating cum laude from Augsburg College.

Daniel’s academic success continued at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Despite working full-time as a police detective, Daniel demonstrated exceptional dedication to the study of law and positioned himself at the top of his class. As a result, Daniel was invited to join the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity’s Society of Scholars, an honor reserved for a limited number of high-ranking students from each law school. Ultimately, Daniel graduated summa cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, earning the school’s highest academic distinction.

Daniel’s solid educational foundation and relentless work ethic have equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the legal profession.

Experience and Expertise

With nearly two decades of law enforcement experience, including more than ten years specializing in criminal investigations, Daniel possesses a wealth of practical knowledge of the legal system. As a former Minnesota Attorney General's Office Conviction Review Unit intern, Daniel is able to leverage his professional knowledge and experience with the intricacies of law in the furtherance of justice. Daniel has also conducted extensive research on eyewitness identification and is a published author on the subject. ​

Daniel possesses a genuine love for the law. He relentlessly pursues continuing legal and professional education opportunities to expand his ever-growing legal toolkit. Daniel routinely takes courses on emerging trends in estate planning, execution of Wills and Probate Administration, personal injury investigations, negotiation techniques, motion practice, and civil trial preparation.

Daniel is also a trained Alcotest operator with nearly 20 years of experience using the instrument utilized to examine breath samples in New Jersey DWI cases. Furthermore, he is certified in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, including the horizontal gaze nystagmus test, and has personally conducted more than 200 examinations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and fairness in DUI cases. Daniel has also received countless hours of training in internal affairs, crime scene processing, search and seizure, law enforcement use of force, juvenile justice, and motor vehicle crash reporting.

Community Commitment

Beyond the courtroom, Daniel is deeply committed to serving his community and those he represents. He volunteers his time and expertise with Wills for Heroes, extending legal support to heroes who protect and serve our communities. He also serves as a special needs team coach for Liquid Church in Parsippany, NJ, embodying the spirit of inclusivity and compassion in his work. 

Additionally, Daniel volunteers with the Tim Tebow Foundation Night to Shine, contributing to unforgettable experiences for individuals with special needs. His compassion also extends to his personal life, as he and his wife Melissa have given a loving home to their rescue dog, Mocha.
